We are excited to announce that Jeffrey W. Hubbard, DDS has completed the training and is now certified through the AAFE (American Academy of Facial Esthetics) to treat patients using injectable neurotoxins (Botox® and Xeomin®) for facial esthetics as well as providing therapeutic relief of TMJ, headaches, and facial pain. The neurotoxin treatments are FDA approved using a purified protein which is injected into targeted muscles to temporarily block nerve signals that cause muscle movements essentially relaxing the muscle which eliminates fine lines and wrinkles.
Within three to five days of the injections, the treated facial muscles become temporarily relaxed, causing the overlying skin to lay flat and smooth. The untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion allowing facial expressions to be unaffected.
These neurotoxin injections take only a few minutes and will remain effective for approximately three months. With regular treatments, Botox and Xeomin can help train your facial muscles to reduce intensity thus reducing wrinkles and facial pain for longer periods of time.
Botox and Xeomin are FDA approved for treatment of chronic migraines and headaches especially for patients with TMJ issues.
Dr. Hubbard has also completed the training for placement of dermal fillers to enhance your natural lip contours as well as reduce facial folds such as the nasolabial fold that tends to deepen as we age.
Combining Botox with other esthetic treatments like dermal fillers (Juvéderm®) you will have a more youthful and relaxed appearance.

Most of our patients find that using neurotoxin injections in combination with splint therapy that after two to three treatments with Botox many patients lose the habit which accompanies the repetitive grinding or clenching.
